Government of the Federated States of Micronesia

Holiday Season's Message

President Joseph J. Urusemal

December 2005

During this Christmas season and as we approach the end of the year, it is fitting that we pause to reflect and to give thanks for the many blessings bestowed upon us. We have been fortunate this past year that we have not experienced any major natural disasters and sufferings as in other parts of the world. We are indeed grateful to the Almighty.

As we usher in the New Year, I call upon my fellow citizens and friends of the Federated States of Micronesia, to rededicate ourselves and to reaffirm our resolve to make these islands another promised land. This, again, will require all of us to work together so that we can build a stable and peaceful place for us and for the future generations to come.

During this Holiday Season, may I also ask that we remember in our prayers our sons and daughters who are in harms way, serving in the U.S Armed Forces in the far corners of the globe. We extend our warmest greetings and love during this Holiday Season.

The Vice President and I, as well as our families, and the entire staff of your National Government in Palikir, would like to wish each and everyone of you a:

Peren en Krismas oh Parakapw Mwahu,
Pwapwan Kristmas me Pwapwan Ier Söfö,
Meri Krismas Ac Acpe Nuya,
Felfelan' ko Krismas nge Bieche Duw.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
