Lt. Governor Yakana new Chairman of FSMSSA Board

FSM Social Security Administration

The Federated States of Micronesia Social Security Administration announces that its Board of Trustees has elected Pohnpei State Lieutenant Governor - Jack E Yakana as the new Chairman.

Lt. Governor Yakana is Pohnpei State's representative to the FSMSSA's Board where he in-turn represents the FSMSSA's Board on the Trust Territory Prior Service Board. He holds concurrent Chairmanship on both the Board of the FSMSSA and the TT Prior Service Board.

His selection came during a recent meeting where re-organization of the Board where the Trustees also elected National Government representative Nahoy G. Selifis as the Vice Chairman. The remaining members of the Board of Trustees include:

• Bernes O. Reselap, Chuuk
• Nena Ned, Kosrae; and
• Charles L. Chieng, Yap (pending Congress confirmation)

In addition to the re-organization of its leadership, agenda items for the Board meeting included discussions of the FSM SSA's FY06 Budget, considerations of the programs various portfolio's and also the various improvements proposed for the program.
