 Speaker Figir calls for the Fourth Regular SessionPALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Congress): May 7, 2008 - Speaker Isaac V. Figir has called for the Fourth Regular Session of the 15th Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene at 10am on Monday May 12 2008, for a 20-day duration. Speaker noted in his Call that the national budget for Fiscal Year '09 would be among the primary issues of the Fourth Regular Session, along with other pressing issues of national concern. His letter to President Manny Mori encouraged the participation and assistance of the Administration's key people to ensure a successful and productive session. The May session will also mark the first anniversary of the 15th FSM Congress and the Executive Administration. As such, the FSM Congress had invited President Manny Mori through Congressional Resolution 15-109 to deliver his State of the Nation address during the May session. President Mori has accepted the invitation and is scheduled to address the nation during the Opening Session of the Fourth Regular Congress. Through the assistance of FSM Telecommunications and the local radio stations, the event has been scheduled for live broadcast throughout the Federation. The Fourth Regular Session, as with all Sessions of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia, is open to the general public. |
