KOLONIA, Pohnpei, (The Kaselehlie Press): August 8-12, 2002 - In September, Korean Air will be sending representatives from Korea to conduct a feasibility study on Pohnpei.

According to Akillino Susaia, FSM Transportation Communications and Infrastructure Secretary, the study, which will involve businesses and government agencies, will determine the volume of cargo, frequency of flights and routes that could be justified.

The data will be collected and analyzed to decide whether or not the airline should begin Pohnpei service.

"The FSM national government is always open to any airline coming in to do business.

"Not only that, it will provide several alternatives to the traveler, and hopefully improve our economy by boosting airline competition," explained Susaia.

"If the study turns out feasible, Korean Air may start servicing Pohnpei and other appropriate routes," said Susaia.
