Two teams are at a tie in Little League Baseball standings

POHNPEI, Palikir (FSM Information Service): April 2000 - In Pohnpei Little League Baseball standings, Sea Air Transportation and EMC Blocks currently sit tied in first place, each with three wins and no losses, according to a April 19-standings press release from the Office of the FSM Olympic Committee.

In third position with two wins and no losses is D. Parkinson/Doloitte & Touche Young Yankees, followed by True Value Internationals with two wins and one loss.

Young Navigators A follows in fifth position with two wins and two losses, while Ambros Store 49ers slip into sixth position with one win and one loss.

LJ Tie Breakers sits in seventh position with two wins and three losses and BFSM Little Sluggers rests at eighth position with one win and three losses.

In ninth position is team Young Navigators B with no wins and two losses. At last position is team K2 Rebels with no wins and four losses, according to the press release.

End of the league order determination will be based on several factors. A team that allowed the fewer runs in the games it has played will be positioned higher than another team with the same number of wins and losses. Also, a team that has won the game or games between the teams tied shall be given the higher position, and if necessary a flip of the coin will determine final position, according to the press release.

Order determination will be decided after each team plays nine games.

The top four teams at the end of a 45-game schedule will playoff in a semi-finals with the first positioned playing the fourth and the second positioned playing the third in a best of three games series.

The winners from this series will play for the championship in another best of three-game series. The losing teams from the series will play one game for third place.

Team players on the 10 teams are boys between ages 8 and 12 years old.

Mobil Oil Micronesia has donated trophies for the championship, second, third, and fourth place teams and for the Most Improved Team and Team Sportsmanship awards.

League play is scheduled to be completed by June 16.
