 Kosrae and Yap readies for State General Elections in NovemberPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): May 12, 2006 - The State Election Commissioners of Kosrae and Yap has notified the Office of the President that preparations are underway for the State General Elections to be held on November 7, 2006. Generally, the State General Election is for the Office of the Governor, the Lt. Governor and members of the State Legislature. For the State of Kosrae, the November Elections would be to elect the General State Leadership, as noted. The State of Yap however, in addition to Executive and Legislative Branches, will also hold Elections for the Mayor and members of the Rull Municipal Council, and the 12 proposed amendments to the State Constitution. While both General Elections are scheduled for Tuesday - November 7 2006, different deadlines have been established by each State Election Commissioner Office. The Office of the Kosrae State Election Commissioner urges citizens of Kosrae to adhere to the following deadlines for the election of its Governor, Lt.
