FSM Office of SBOC Submits FY2012 2nd Quarter Reports to the Office of Insular Affairs

Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): May 17, 2012 - The FSM Office of Statistics, Budget & Economic Management, Overseas Development Assistance and Compact Management (S.B.O.C.) has submitted all received fiscal year 2012 second quarter performance reports to the Office of Insular Affairs. Out of more than 126 projects, 94% of reports have been transmitted by the five FSM Governments to SBOC for submission to OIA on the April 30, 2012 deadline.

Under the terms of the Fiscal Procedures Agreement in the Amended Compact, the FSM is required to submit all Compact-funded program performance reports to the United States Government within thirty days after the end of each reporting period. The 6% of projects unreported represents seven various projects that are yet unaccounted for from the following departments/offices: National Department of Health & Social Affairs, FSM Project Management Unit, Chuuk Financial Control Commission, Chuuk Public Service Commission and the Pohnpei Visitors Bureau. In a communication to the President presenting the status of FY2012 second quarter Compact performance reports, the Director of SBOC, Ms. Evelyn Adolph, indicated that the second quarter performance reports would be used in the upcoming Joint Budget Consultations between SBOC and OIA to determine projects that may or may not be funded in the next fiscal year. Overall performance reporting will also be a topic of discussion at the Compact Sector Budget Preparation Workshop being held in Palikir from May 1-4, 2012.
