Pretrick: FSM's first female CFE

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): May 23, 2003 - Sophia H. Pretrick (32), of the Federated States of Micronesia Public Auditors Office, has recently been awarded the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Awarded by the Board of Regents of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Pretrick joins an elite group of professionals responsible for resolving a wide range of allegations of fraud and white-collar crime. The designation of Certified Fraud Examiner is awarded only to select professionals who meet a stringent set of criteria and a rigorous exam designed to assess a candidate's knowledge of: Financial Transactions, the legal elements of fraud, criminology and ethics, and fraud investigation.

Pretrick is the third FSM citizen with a CFE designation, she joins Jack Jack and Fletcher Poll both from Pohnpei State, who in have served the FSM in the investigation of allegations of fraud and the detection and prevention of white-collar crime. Pretrick is daughter of Bethwel and Marihne Henry from Pohnpei.

Pretrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Park College in Missouri. Pretrick is married to Moses Pretrick and they have two daughters.
