President Nominates Cabinet

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM INFORMATION SERVICE): July 16, 2003 - President Joseph J. Urusemal, on July 16, 2003, sent over to congress his nominees to various posts in his administration for review and consideration.

After extensive consultations with the members of Congress, President Urusemal nominates the following individuals.

  • Paul McIlrath: Department of Justice
  • Akillino Susaia: Department of Transportation, Communication and Infrastructure
  • Beauleen Carl-Worswick: Public Defender
  • Kandhi Elieisar: Ambassador to the Government of Japan
  • John S. Fritz: Deputy Chief of Mission, Tokyo
  • James Naich: Deputy Chief of Mission, Washington D.C.
  • Gabriel Ayin: Deputy Chief of Mission, Fiji
  • Tadao P. Sigrah: Deputy Permanent Representative, New York
  • Samson Pretrick: Consul General, Guam
  • Kasio Mida: Consul General, Honolulu

In his letter to Speaker Peter M. Christian, President Urusemal said that the remaining nominations will be made as soon as consultation with members of Congress is completed.

The remaining nominations include the Secretary and Deputy Secretary for the Department of Foreign Affairs, Secretary and Deputy Secretary for the Department of Economic Affairs, Secretary and Deputy Secretary for the Department of Finance and Administration, and Secretary and Deputy Secretary for Department of Health, Education and Social Affairs.
