UN agency announces poster contest

POHNPEI, Palikir (FSM Information Service): August 2000 - The United Nations Population Fund is conducting a regional poster competition designed for folks between the ages of 6 and 18.

The theme of the competition is "A World of Opportunities."

The competition will be divided into four categories: 6 to 8 years old; 9 to 12, 13 to 15, and 16 to 18, according to a press release from UNFPA.

Winners from the four categories will receive cash prizes of $100 for first place and $50 for second.

Crayons, paint, pencil, magic marker, collage, or other appropriate materials may be used for submissions, which should be no larger than 18 inches by 24 inches, and no smaller than 8 ½ by 11 inches.

Competitors must put their name, age and age category, name of their school and class, and address and contact telephone number on the back of their submission.

Posters must be received by September 1 at UNFPA Representative, UNFPA Sub-regional Office, Private Mailbag, Suva, Fiji.
