 President Mori Signed Micronesia Challenge ProclamationPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): August 31, 2007 - On August 29, 2007, President Mori signed a Presidential Proclamation on the Micronesia Challenge, officially adopting the "recommendations of the Micronesia Challenge Action Plan meeting". The Micronesia Challenge is committed to "effectively conserve at least 30% of near-shore marine and 20% of the forest resources across Micronesia by 2020." With the signing of the Presidential Proclamation, the Federated States of Micronesia joined the Republics of Marshall and Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam in progressing national and regional implementation, organization and fundraising for the Micronesia Challenge.
