The late Sgt. Soram arrives Pohnpei today

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): October 7, 2004 - The remains of late Army Sergeant Soram Skipper (23) is scheduled to arrive in Pohnpei today, according to information from the United States Embassy in Kolonia.

Funeral Services for Sgt. Soram has been scheduled for 3:00 pm at the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Kolonia with Burial Services to be held the following day at the Soram's residence in Metipw, Madolenihmw.

The oldest among Ensper and Perpetua Soram's children, Sgt. Soram is survived by his wife Marissa G. Soram, the parents, his twin brother Skipson and 12 brothers and sisters.

President Joseph J. Urusemal's letter to the parents of the late Sgt. Sorma had expressed the deep sense of loss to the nation. The letter in its entirety is as follows:

"On behalf of the people of this nation, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to you, your relatives and friends for your great loss. There are no words nor deed that can be expressed to comfort you and your family for the overwhelming sense of loss.

We are humbled by the sacrifice made by your son to join the crusade to uphold the principles of freedom, liberty and justice in the world. His contribution to the cause is immeasurable and we will always be indebted to him. He is a her0 to the FSM people.

May the good Lord comfort you and your family during your time of bereavement."
