President Nena Was Bestowed Traditional Title

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): November 20, 1997 - FSM President Jacob Nena was bestowed the title of Nahluhk Mwolelap in the President's Office in the FSM Capital, Palikir by Nahnpwutak Pikeniap, Nanmwarki of Sokehs, His Royal Highness Herculano C. Kohler.

The presentation was made to the President in presence of Vice President Leo A. Falcam and Damian Sohl who holds the title of Nohs Palikir.

Falcam holds the traditional title Luhk Pohnpei, conferred upon him when he was elected as First Governor under the Pohnpei Constitution.

In presenting the title with the placing of a symbolic wreath upon the President's head, Kohler said he is bestowing the title to honor the high Office of the President and the presence of the seat of the FSM Government in Palikir, which part is of Sokehs Municipality under his traditional jurisdiction.
